OC is in Cox Bazar, Bangladesh, providing aid on behalf of a partner NGO, to the influx of refugees fleeing from violence in Rohingya.
This week, Osman Consulting is in Ukhia Upazila – Cox Bazar, Bangladesh, representing Baitulmaal and attending the WASH sector coordination meeting. The meeting is set to focus on the common hygiene kit pipeline, which is an initiative by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) as well as the shelter cluster for the new specification of the hygiene kit needed for the circumstances in the Rohingya camps.
OC’s El-Zafarani, has travelled out to the field to understand first-hand the situation on the ground, including areas of overlap and gaps that NGOs can fill in with their programs.
Many of the people in the Cox Bazar area are now reliant on humanitarian aid, as a result of being driven out of the Rakhine State due to an outbreak violence in 2017. Basic services are under severe strain due to the influx of people. Water and sanitation facilities are limited and of poor quality, which has negatively affected many people.
Osman Consulting is currently working on representing the donor organisation that is implementing the project, as well as gathering information to be in best places to advice and give recommendations for future projects in the area.
